Léa Porré's 'Dear One' series of videos investigate the decapitation of King Louis XVIth in 1793, in light of the worldwide mythological pattern of the Sacrificial King. A cyclical vision of death and renewal, where the royal body is deeply entwined with the agro-pastoral landscape of the society at large. Dear One at Le Marais (2022) was commissioned by 91530 Le Marais, an art foundation outside of Paris that produces hemp and bamboo crops as source material for art, architecture and design projects.
